an event for Art Night Venezia

On the occasion of Art Night Venezia 2023, organised by Università Ca’ Foscari with the support of the City of Venice and under the patronage of the Veneto Region, Bottega Cini offers a special opening:
“LA ROSA, ROSAE, ROSAM…”
The event draws its inspiration from the ancient damask rose, exploring its history and its uses in perfumery, cosmetics and cooking.
The essence of damask rose created by The Merchant of Venice accompanies the musical notes played on the harpsichord by the pianist specialising in early keyboard instruments Zoya Tukhmanova Karapetyan, who performs a number of compositions from the eleventh to the fifteenth century dedicated to the rose.
The artisan Michela Bortolozzi holds a demonstration workshop on the creation of her iconic sculptural candles shaped like the architecture of the Gothic rose window.
In a surprise moment during the evening, visitors present are offered a tasting of the rare “Vartanush” jam, made for centuries following a secret recipe by the Armenian monks of the Island of San Lazzaro in Venice.
The resident artisan Marisa Convento gives a demonstration of her craft as an impiraressa, creating roses live using the ancient techniques of the art of glass beads.
The special opening runs from 19:00 to 23:00.
