Submerged Alchemies The Alchemists of Venice. A Journey into Hidden Wisdom

Bottega Cini, Venice, 21 June 2025

Submerged Alchemies from 18.00 to 23.00

Art as an alchemical language, works as the fruit of a creative process in which the elements of painting, sculpture and contemporary life are transformed into something sublimated.
Four women living in Venice: Resi Girardello, Elena Cenzon, Nadia Fabris and Giorgia Zuin, engage today with the key themes of current affairs, from politics to climate change, offering new food for thought through the language of art. Thanks to Giovanni Alliata di Montereale.

The Alchemists of Venice. A Journey into Hidden Wisdom from 19.15 to 23.15

Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Piscopia, the first woman in the world to earn a university degree, Marietta Barovier, a fifteenth-century glass master, and Isabella Cortese, an alchemist and author of one of the most widely read books of the Renaissance, are the protagonists of an exhibition path that celebrates the creative, intellectual and transformative strength of female knowledge in historic Venice.
During Art Night, the public is invited to immerse themselves in three dedicated spaces: the Sala della Sapienza (Hall of Wisdom), the Sala della Materia (Hall of Matter) and the Sala dell’Essenza (Hall of Essence), in which words, images, glass and scents are interwoven to tell an unfamiliar Venice, seen through the eyes of its alchemists. A project curated by Bottega Cini, to rediscover the invisible and powerful roots of female knowledge.
